Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the things clients most often ask before getting in touch. Can't find what you're after? Just ask me directly.

Does it cost anything to talk to you?

No. My advice is free to you — I'm paid by the lender once your loan settles, not by you. There's no cost or obligation to get in touch.

Will checking my options affect my credit score?

An initial conversation about your situation doesn't touch your credit file at all. A credit check only happens later, once you choose to formally apply with a specific lender.

How much deposit do I need for my first home?

It varies by lender and loan type, but many first home buyers get started with less than the "standard" 20% through schemes and low-deposit lending options. Best to talk it through — people are much closer than they think.

I already have a mortgage with a bank. Can you still help?

Yes — refinancing, refixing, or restructuring an existing loan is one of the most common things I help with. I'll review what you're on now and whether a better structure or rate is available.

How long does the process usually take?

It depends on your situation and the lender, but I'll keep you updated at every stage so you're never left wondering what's happening. One thing I always tell my clients — communication goes a long way.

What happens after my loan is settled?

Settlement isn't the end of it — I'll continue to assist with your mortgage needs long after your loan settles. I like to check in on a yearly basis to see how you're tracking, and I'm here to help whenever you need a refix, a top-up, or just a second opinion.
